Our ND experience of clutter and organisation
In an increasingly cluttered world, the art of decluttering and organising one’s physical space can be a transformative experience, especially for neurodivergent individuals. As a personal declutterer and organiser, I specialise in creating harmonious living and working environments that cater to the unique needs and strengths of neurodivergent adults.
I am a late-diagnosed AuDHD with many of the related add-ons, I understand the unique challenges neurodivergent individuals face with organising and clutter. Through personalised organising and decluttering services, I help you eliminate the chaos and create spaces that reflect your best self, supporting your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Together, let’s create environments that bring joy, peace, and a sense of control.
I offer personalised organising and decluttering services tailored specifically for neurodivergent individuals. Understanding that each of us faces unique challenges and has distinct preferences, I begin with an in-depth consultation to develop a customised approach. My focus is on creating environments and using organisational systems that align with your preferences and personality, ensuring the space is both functional and calming.
Benefits of Decluttering and Organising
Many neurodivergent individuals, such as those of us with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other cognitive variances, we often experience the world differently. Sensory sensitivities, challenges with executive functioning, and unique cognitive processing styles can make traditional organisational systems less effective for us.
By working with our unique strengths and preferences as neurodivergent individuals, we can begin to reorganise our physical and digital spaces to reflect the life we envision for ourselves. These actions create tangible results in our everyday lives, and include:
- Reduced Anxiety and Stress: A cluttered environment can exacerbate feelings of anxiety and overwhelm. By creating organised spaces, we reduce the sensory and cognitive load, leading to a more peaceful state of mind.
- Improved Focus and Productivity: Organised spaces can enhance concentration and productivity, especially important for neurodivergent individuals who might struggle with attention and distraction.
- Enhanced Self-Esteem and Empowerment: Taking control of one’s environment can be empowering, fostering a sense of accomplishment and improved self-esteem.
Beyond organising spaces, I emphasise skill-building based on my lived neurodivergent experience, providing you with strategies you can use independently. Recognising that lasting change takes time, I offer ongoing support to help you maintain your new organisational system and make necessary adjustments, ensuring you continue to benefit from a clutter-free, harmonious environment.
